Aspire Global enters Danish sportsbook market via BtoBet

Aspire Global has expanded its presence in Denmark to include sports betting services, securing an operating licence from the Danish Gambling Authority (DGA), the Spillemyndigheden.

The igaming supplier’s sportsbook solution BtoBet has received certification according to Danish regulatory requirements, enabling Aspire to provide sports wagering to Danish players alongside its casino offering.

Expansion of its foothold in Denmark builds on Aspire Global’s current global positioning, which has seen it operate in the US, UK, Portugal, Spain, Republic of Ireland, Nigeria, Colombia, Mexico and most recently Poland, where it made its debut in partnership with BestBet24

For BtoBet – acquired by Aspire in 2020 –  the certification strengthens the firm’s position in the European market, where it is currently focusing on expanding its business in tandem with North American growth, building on success in Latin America and Africa.

Although seeking to bolster its standing in Europe, the sports betting platform has continued to work on its LatAm operations, having agreed to support Flutter Entertainment brand FanDuel’s expansion into the Brazilian daily fantasy sports (DFS) market.

“Our offering has been considerably bolstered up by the acquisition of BtoBet and its proprietary sportsbook,” remarked Tsachi Maimon, CEO at Aspire Global.

“We see significant growth opportunities by offering both existing partners and new customers across the world a leading comprehensive gaming offering covering the technology platform, sportsbook, games, games aggregation and managed services.”

Aspire Global first began operating in Denmark iin 2012 specifically within the casino sector, and can now expand into the sports betting space via its BtoBet subsidiary’s new licence.

Yesterday, the company’s board ‘unanimously recommended’ a SEK 111 (€11) per share bid from NeoGames SA to its shareholders, which if approved would see the latter secure a 50% stake in the Nasdaq Stockholm-listed gambling group.
