Betfred gets ready to rumble with Michael Buffer

Betfred will debut ‘Let’s Get Ready to Rumble’, its new nationwide advertising campaign, this weekend on BT and Sky Sports channels.

The Manchester bookmaker’s new headline campaign sees iconic boxing ring-announcer Michael Buffer welcome all UK sports fans back to stadiums, through his legendary catchphrase of ‘Let’s Get Ready to Rumble’

The campaign, developed by Liverpool-based advertising agency Zut Media, sees Betfred celebrate the return of live sports environments and how they drive the passion and engagement of their audiences.

Set to the 90s dance anthem “Get Ready for This” by 2 Unlimited, Betfred showcases its extensive UK sponsorship portfolio covering partnerships in football, boxing, rugby league, snooker, darts and golf.

Campaign Director Matt Thompson commented: “Michael is the world’s biggest and best-known sporting announcer, who better to choose to star in a campaign that celebrates sport and those special spine-tingling moments it creates.”

“We know how passionate the Betfred team are about sport and the events they support and sponsor. Our creative celebrates their passion and the return of sport at its best.”

Michael Buffer’s image will feature across all Betfred’s digital platforms and will be further promoted across Betfred’s  1470 UK betting shops.

Betfred has also produced a safer gambling advert featuring Michael Buffer in which 20% of airtime will be dedicated to safer gambling messages.

“What I love about Betfred is that Fred is a sports fan and so passionate. He loves the action just like me” Michael Buffer explained.

“I love sports, the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat is what keeps you going and Betfred are involved in so many sports. That’s why it’s a great relationship.”
