Betsson boosts Brazilian football investment with Gauchão

Betsson has revealed that it will be sponsoring the Campeonato Gauchão football championship and be present in all commercial properties of the competition.

After having invested in Brazilian football since 2021, the Swedish online betting platform now sponsors the 102nd edition of the competition, where 12 clubs will play 72 games to compete for the title.

Andre Gelfi, Managing Partner of Betsson in Brazil, commented: “The fans from Rio Grande do Sul have a strong connection to soccer. We have already carried out some advertising campaigns in the region and we feel that being present in the tournament is a great opportunity to reach the most passionate of fans.”

Furthermore, in line with its targets to expand in the country, the enterprise will gain brand exposure reserved for sponsors, as well as perform a series of activations, which are set to be announced throughout the season.

“We’re honoured by this partnership. It is always important to have great brands associated with the Gaúcho Championship, which adds even more value to our state’s main competition,” added Luciano Hocsman, President of the Federação Gaúcha de Futebol.

Last year, the company became the main sponsor of the Íbis Sport Club which meant that the shirt of the Blackbird had the BetssonFC logo printed in the center.

In January this year, the firm also became the main sponsor of Betsson 2022 Pernambucano. After securing the naming rights, this deal also included a series of marketing and PR activations.

This agreement also marked an expansion of Betsson’s Brazilian marketing and branding as well as a continuation of its focus on Pernambuco state, where it has been a sponsor of local team Ibis Sport Club since last year.

As the season gets underway, Sport Club Internacional takes top place in the league after being the only side to have won its first two games; 2-1 against Juventude on Wednesday and 2-0 against Uniao Frederiquense over the weekend.
