BresBet makes market debut with racing focus
Sheffield-based betting operator BresBet has made its debut in the UK market, starting operations with a focus on horse and greyhound racing and providing ‘customer friendly’ services.
Founded by Nic Brereton – who also serves as Chairman – the company aims to offer betting across multiple platforms, launching both its website for online customers and its call-centre for telephone wagering today.
Making a pledge to ‘get back into betting’, the newly active firm plans on expanding from its initial online and telephone-based operations to enter the retail high street sector with the opening of’ BresBet Sporting Lounges’.
“We aim to make BresBet a force in a competitive market – online, on-course and retail,” said David Perry, Managing Director of BresBet. “The official launch today is just the start as we look forward to developing the business even further in the coming months – our new website is up and running and we urge customers to sign up and become part of the BresBet family.”
The company launches with a particular initial focus on horse racing and greyhound racing, having secured the sponsorship of the 75th East Anglian Greyhound Derby at Yarmouth Stadium and entering discussions with other venues, with an objective of featuring ‘prominently across both sports in terms of partnerships and sponsorships.
Furthermore, BresBet has become a partner of the Uttoxeter and Warwick horse racing track whilst entering discussions with other greyhound venues, with an objective of featuring ‘prominently across both sports in terms of partnerships and sponsorships’.
In addition, the firm has come to an arrangement with national hunt jockey Paddy Brennan – the winner of the 2010 Cheltenham Gold Cup – as its first brand ambassador, marketed by the bookmaker as ‘BresBet Legends’.
“Having Paddy as the first BresBet Legend is just fantastic,” Brereton remarked. “We’ve been owners at Ravenswell Farm for a few years now and have seen at first hand the tremendous work and ambition Fergal and his team have – and Paddy is a key member of that team.
“We are excited about working with Paddy and look forward to announcing more BresBet Legends in the future.”
Lastly, BreBet detailed its commitment to social responsibility with the launch of its foundation, allocating a proportion of its profits to support charitable initiatives such as racehorse and greyhound welfare.
“The BresBet Foundation will be at the core of BresBet’s ethos, and our hope is that it will allow us to make a real difference,” Brereton continued. “We are passionate about sport, but also extremely keen to help the communities we work with – and these feelings are shared by our BresBet Legends who will also be out and about helping raise the profile of our partner charities.”
