CIRSA marks another quarter of growth as impact of early World Cup stages revealed

Spanish gambling conglomerate CIRSA has reported its 72nd consecutive quarter of growth after the 2026 World Cup gave the firm a huge boost.

Net revenue grew 10.1% year-on-year in Q2 2026 to €637m, while adjusted net profit jumped by a sizable 55% to €75m and EBITDA rose from €186.8m to €202m.

For the entirety of H1 2026, net revenue was up 9.1% YoY to €1.26bn and EBITDA climbed 8.4% to €396m.

Sports betting turnover increased by 10.8%, with the quarter covering the early stages of what turned out to be a winning World Cup campaign for CIRSA’s home market’s national team.

Despite only being at the Round of 32 stage by the end of June, the World Cup served as a major catalyst for the company’s online sector, driving strong acquisition.

CIRSA reported a 3.6x increase in first time depositors, a +96% rise in unique active players and a 3.1x increase in new registered users.

The company’s €375m refinancing cut financial costs by 40% and extended the group’s debt maturity. Total net debt now stands at €2.07bn.

Online operations massively outperformed expectations, with net revenues organically growing by 14.9% in Q2 2026, while online turnover over the entire first half was up 22.4%.

Retail operations also saw a revenue increase of 10.2% in Q2 2026, with H1 2026 revenues climbing by 9.1%.

CIRSA by region

Market by market, CIRSA delivered strong growth of 12.1% in Latin America and revenue in its home market of Spain increased by 7.7% YoY.

CIRSA expanded its presence in Paraguay by acquiring Slots del Sol, the country’s leading online casino, which holds a 50% market share.

The company reported that the acquisition is generating significant traction, including a bump of 66% average revenue per user and +57% active player growth.

In Portugal, CIRSA completed a deal for Casino Figueira, marking its first casino property in Portugal to support its omnichannel strategy.

It is to be expected that the firm will mark its 73rd quarter of growth in Q3 as the full impacts of the climax of the 2026 World Cup are revealed.
