Digitain gets supplier license in Isle of Man
Sportsbook tech provider Digitain has been granted an iGaming software supplier licence from the Isle of Man.
Issued by the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission (GSC), the licence covers the operations of Digitain’s locally-registered Blue Whale Limited.
This licence further extends the Isle of Man’s regulated supplier ecosystem, which has kept a stable reputation in iGaming for the past 20 years – with the occasional shakeup along the way, like the 2025 TGP Europe collapse, for example.
Tim Johnston MHK, Isle of Man Minister for Enterprise, welcomed the development by saying: “Digitain is a significant player in the global iGaming industry, and its decision to secure an Isle of Man licence is a strong vote of confidence in the Island’s regulatory credibility and long-term stability.
“It demonstrates that the Isle of Man continues to attract serious, enterprise-scale technology providers who value high standards and regulatory certainty. We remain committed to supporting a future-focused iGaming sector that delivers sustainable, long-term economic value for the Isle of Man.”
Digitain’s over-two-decades of industry expertise as a sportsbook and gaming supplier for both online and retail operators across regulated markets perfectly fits into the Isle of Man’s pursuit of regulatory credibility and long-term stability as a preferred tier-one jurisdiction for serious gaming investments.
Moreover, the certificate will further boost the company’s international expansion strategy, especially across Europe where it holds a solid market share in some of the biggest regulated jurisdictions.
One of these countries is Romania, where the gambling market has been continuously evolving to match its most developed counterparts in the Union. Last year, Digitain brokered a deal with Evoke’s 888 Romania to further strengthen its position there.
What’s more, Digitain opened its brand new HQ in Malta last year, now serving as the global gambling company’s center of operations that extends its business interests across Europe, such as regulatory engagement and partner support. Aida Vardanyan was placed as the CEO of that division.
It is worth noting that both the Isle of Man and Malta are considered to be gold standards in terms of favourable business conditions for the licensed gambling sector. It is clear why that is the case with Malta, but is even more evident when one reads the Isle of Man’s commitment to the industry.
Vardanyan added: “The licensing process of Digitain’s Isle of Man entity, Blue Whale Limited, was rigorous, transparent, and constructive, reflecting the depth of regulatory expertise and institutional stability that the Isle of Man is known for. Cavendish Trust played a central role in this journey, providing exceptional guidance, regulatory insight, and operational support throughout the process.
“Their experience, professionalism, and deep understanding of both the jurisdiction and the global iGaming landscape were instrumental in achieving this milestone, and we look forward to continuing our partnership as we grow our regulated business from the Isle of Man.”
