Digitain marks latest step in Bulgarian expansion
Digitain has strengthened its footprint in the Balkans with the acquisition of two key licences in Bulgaria.
The technology provider is now the owner of both a manufacturer and an importer licence, granted by the Bulgarian regulator, the National Revenue Agency.
Both certifications will enable Digitain to further boost its market share in the country by offering a broader and at the same time fully compliant portfolio of tools to its local partners.
The manufacturer licence enables the firm to provide products that have been developed in-house, entirely tailored for the needs of the Bulgarian market. Meanwhile, the importer licence opens the door for the distribution of third-party products that expand Digitain’s domestic offering.
Digitain has been actively focusing on the Eastern Europe region, recognising it as a significant opportunity to diversify its partnership network through a net of prospective collaborations.
Speaking to SBC News at last year’s SBC Summit Lisbon, Digitain’s regional Head of Sales, Hmayak Arakelyan, said: “If we look at it on a country-by-country basis, in Greece we have Betano with its international experience. In Romania, we have Superbet, who are doing a great job with their innovations.
“In every country we have one or two big operators who have the technological expertise and employees who innovate and influence the betting and gaming industry.”
The Bulgarian licences continue a pan-European push by the Armenian tech firm after it secured supplier licences in both the UK and Isle of Man in February and signing a deal with Serbian firm AdmiralBet in early March.
On the latest Digitain achievement, Arshak Muradyan, Group Chief Compliance Officer, added: “Securing both licences in Bulgaria is an important step in strengthening our presence in regulated markets.
“It allows us to deliver both our in-house solutions and a wide range of certified third-party products in full compliance with local requirements. This dual capability ensures that our partners can confidently operate and scale in the Bulgarian market with a reliable and fully compliant product offering.”
