Entain showcased as a Bloomberg Global 50 leader on corporate ESG

Entain Plc has been featured on Bloomberg’s ’50 Global Leaders’ campaign – showcased amongst the most effective global firms achieving its sustainability objectives as a corporate discipline.

The campaign, which is being promoted on Bloomberg’s digital media platform, highlights the work on environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) initiatives and directives by leading international companies.

Showcasing Entain, Bloomberg highlighted the advances made by the FTSE100 company, such as its group-wide transformational ‘sustainability charter’ launched last year.

The ESG and sustainability directive saw Entain pledge to invest £100 million over five years – provided by the Entain Foundation – to fund responsible gaming initiatives and support people and communities in the international jurisdictions in which it operates.

Bloomberg’s campaign further highlighted Entain’s commitment to pioneering the gambling industry’s safer gambling and player protection initiatives, undertaking the proprietary development of its Advanced Responsibility and Care (ARC) technology.

The support of local communities has been manifested by Entain establishing multi-million £ investments in grassroots sports projects such as ‘Pitching-in’ in partnership with SportsAid UK, as well as the ‘bwincares’ programme in Greece.

2020 achievements saw Entain rank #1 in the All-in Diversity Charter’s All-Index list, the industry benchmark for workforce diversity and inclusion, as it continues to develop initiatives around global presence to support under-represented groups, and notably young women, seeking careers in technology.

The FTSE100 firm further provided support throughout the pandemic, with a global Employee Assistance Programme linked to the wellbeing platform, Unmind, and relief, through the Foundation, for victims of COVID-19 in India.

New charter directives saw Entain achieve its greenhouse gas emissions reduction target one year early, reducing emissions by over 15% per employee since 2018, with the company pledging to become net-zero by 2035.

Entain has committed to a net-zero pledge as a member of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, the S&P Sustainability Yearbook 2021, and FTSE4Good.
