Fortuna Entertainment appoints Carlo Di Maio as Romania CEO

Fortuna Entertainment has confirmed the appointment of Carlo Di Maio as new Chief Executive of its FEG Romania subsidiary.

A twenty-year industry executive, Di Maio will lead Fortuna’s Romanian units, having formerly served as General Manager of Goldbet and Intralot sportsbook divisions for Italian gambling conglomerate Gamenet Group SPA.

Di Maio will oversee the day-to-day operations and growth strategy of FEG Romania – the business subsidiary established by Fortuna following its back-to-back acquisitions of Hattrick Sports and Fortbet Holdings in 2017.

FEG Romania comprises the assets of leading bookmaker Casa Pariurilor, merged with the Fortbet gaming properties of Bet Zone SRL, Public Slots SRL and Slot Arena SR.

Outside of the Czech Republic, Romania currently operates as Fortuna’s second biggest marketplace in which the group employs over 6,000 staff managing a network of 1,500 retail/gaming points.

Fortuna welcomed Di Maio’s appointment as the optimal candidate to lead its Romanian business units, noting the executive’s past experience leading multi-market operations for Eurobet, under the management of former owner Gala Coral group.
