GiG bolsters global expansion as UK client signed and Ontario licence acquired

Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has secured two key milestones for its continued global growth, signing a tier-one UK firm as a client and gaining entry into Ontario.

In the UK, the sports betting and iGaming software company has signed a head of terms agreement with Aspers Group, entering into a platform and managed services partnership with the retail operator.

The company will provide Aspers with its technical platform, fully managed services, frontend development, CRM and marketing, backed by its data and GiG Logic rules-based products.

Richard Brown, GiG CEO, said: “I am extremely excited to partner with Aspers, a prominent operator within the land based industry that shares our values on responsible gaming, CSR and passion about the power embracing digital transformation.

“We see great potential in the UK, particularly when we can harness ‘brand equity’ and the retail footprint that Aspers holds with our omni-channel solutions.

“We look forward to working closely with the Aspers team to maximise their potential through a successful digital transformation and anticipate that Aspers will become a significant and high value client for GiG. This type of deal is directly in our ‘wheelhouse’, helping land-based operators digitally transform and showcase our product in the UK market.”

The agreement will support Aspers’ online casino operations as the first phase of the partnership, with the second phase focusing on growth into ‘further verticals’.

GiG states that the deal is testament to its capabilities in supporting the transformation of land-based casinos into the online space, whilst adding that it aims to greatly reduce the ‘complexity of digitally transforming a retail business’ and entry costs for such firms.

Richard Noble, Aspers CEO, added: “We are delighted to join forces with GIG to provide a first-class omni-channel solution for our guests and launch our own branded online site extending the Aspers casino experience to both online and retail customers.

“Through this new platform we will continue to prioritise safer gambling as this is at the heart of everything we do.”

On the other side of the Atlantic, GiG’s second major commercial development this week has seen the company gain an Ontario operating licence, as the provincial market continues to grow.

Granted by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), the B2B licence enables GiG to partner with and provide its sportsbook and PAM solutions to local operators in the recently regulated market

Entry into Ontario marks GiG’s 22nd active market, with licence applications pending in a further four. Approval in Canada’s most populous province follows further rollout of GiG’s products in Colombia, Spain and Portugal, in deals secured by its Sportnco division.

Claudio Caruana, General Counsel for GiG, remarked: “In receiving the registration from the AGCO, we have reached another important milestone in our resolute commitment to supporting the igaming industry for regulated markets, and we’re delighted to be prepared to power new and potential partners in the province.”
