IMG Arena accesses betting data from 19 European football leagues
IMG Arena has been appointed as the official fast betting data partner for 19 European football leagues and 44 competitions.
The deal sees the sports content and technology business gain access to live game data in stadiums from around 8500 matches a season and distribute this to sportsbook operators globally.
This includes top and lower tiers of domestic leagues, domestic cups, super cups and women’s football competitions.
Freddie Longe, EVP and Managing Director of IMG Arena, commented: “This new relationship with The European Leagues will be transformational for our business and reinforces our position as a global leader in sports data capture and distribution technology.
“We are passionate about protecting the integrity of sport and have had a consistent position and commitment to distribution of official content since our launch in 2012.”
The deal with the leagues was secured following what has been described as a ‘competitive tender process’ that was supported by the Association of European Professional Football Leagues (The European Leagues), and will run from the 2022/23 or 2023 seasons.
Some of the top leagues included in the deal are Liga Portugal, Dutch Eredivisie and Coöperatie Eerste Divisie, Austrian Bundesliga, Belgium Pro League, DFB, Super League Greece, Serbian Super Liga, Czech League Football Association, and the Swiss Football League.
Jacco Swart, Managing Director of The European Leagues, added: “We are pleased to have supported our members as they form an exciting new partnership with IMG Arena. It marks a new era for European football data and is a true reflection of our mission to enhance and protect the national competitions run by the domestic leagues.”
The firm will also have access to official data from the Danish League Finnish Football League Association, Israeli Professional Football League, Professional Football League of Kazakhstan, Latvian Optibet Virslīga, Norwegian Professional Football League, Romanian Professional Football League, Slovak Fortuna Liga and the Föreningen Svensk Elitfotboll.
Last month, IMG introduced a collaboration with the DP World Tour which allowed for golf fans to access ‘detailed shot-by-shot data’ from players with the launch of ShotTracker.
This feature looked to provide a range of information including the precise location of a player’s ball, as well as driving, approach shot and putting distances for each shot and the distance to the pin down to the nearest inch on a green.
