SBK continues support for horse racing in three Doncaster sponsorships

SBK, a sportsbook app created by Smarkets, is sponsoring three races at Doncaster today including the inaugural SBK Gold Trophy, 90 minutes before the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Additionally, SBK has boosted the prize money of the SBK Gold Trophy at Doncaster today which means it is now being named as the richest class four jumps race for a decade – with a total prize fund of £25,000.

In a growing support for horse racing, the firm has also stated that all of its customers will earn a £10 free bet for the Cheltenham Gold Cup at 3.30pm if they place a £10 bet on the SBK Gold Trophy.

Smarkets spokesperson, Adam Baylis, commented: “We’re really enjoying doing lots more in racing and wanted to have a little bit of fun on one of the biggest racing days in the calendar with the inaugural running of the SBK Gold Trophy.

“We know the main focus is on Cheltenham but we saw this as a chance to be part of the conversation and it’s great to be able to offer a boosted prize pot away from the Festival.”

Furthermore, it has been reported that Lucinda Russell’s Douglas Talking is the ‘early market leader’ for the Gold Trophy, but the company will be cheering on brand ambassador Tom Bellamy aboard current second-favourite Ahead Of The Field.

Also at Doncaster today, SBK has revealed that it is the sponsor of the opening SBK Handicap Hurdle at 1.20pm and the SBK Novices’ Hurdle at 4pm.

Last week, the firm announced the launch of a SBK Betting Zone, which is a new content hub combining writers, brand ambassadors, podcasts and previews, to boost pre-Cheltenham content.

The sportsbook moved to bolster the range of content available to its customers through the new product, which now focuses on highlighting the app’s odds to provide “insights, betting ups, and previews”.
