Smarkets appoints Crawford and Thiercelin as People & Product leaders

Celine Crawford – Smarkets

Smarkets has reorganised its executive leadership team following a series of internal promotions and new hires, bolstering the day-to-day management of its organisation.

Former Communications Officer Celine Crawford has been promoted to the c-level leadership role of Chief People Officer (CPO).

Recognised as a ‘proven talent’, Crawford has served as Smarkets communications lead since 2015, joining the company from the banking and fintech sectors.

In her new remit, Crawford will spearhead Smarkets’ HR, company culture, and recruitment across its three offices in London, Los Angeles and Malta – where the firm has indexed consecutively on The Sunday Times Tech Track Top-100’ places to work for.

Crawford commented on her new role: “I’m proud to be part of a company like Smarkets that elevates women while they are away on maternity leave juggling the art of caregiving and parenting. I also believe Smarkets has a compelling product proposition to win in betting.”

Arnaud Thiercelin – Smarkets

The promotion of Crawford is followed by Smarkets appointing Arnaud Thiercelin as Chief Product Officer from drone-software systems developer Auterion.

Fresh to the online gambling industry, Smarkets branded its new product lead as an expert in team development, R&D and the management of deep-stack embedded systems.

Thiercelin will lead the development of the company’s two consumer products, the Smarkets betting exchange and SBK sportsbook app.

Crawford and Thiercelin will both report directly to CEO Jason Trost, who welcomed the appointments:-

“I’m delighted to welcome Céline back as Chief People Officer on the Smarkets Leadership Team – she’s helped grow the business to where it is today.

“Whilst Arnaud is someone I’m very excited to build products with. We all have our sights set very high for this company’s future.”
