Trustly’s A2A platform launched across four European markets

Trustly has announced that its account-to-account (A2A) platform Trustly Express will be launched across four European markets.

The service, which aims to enable faster and more reliable A2A payments, will be made available in the UK, Finland, Sweden and the Netherlands.

Trustly, which offers its services to a range of betting and gaming operators, detailed that the new offering is designed to reduce the time taken for users during checkout payments, leading to a more efficient user experience.

The Express solution reduces the usual checkout flow process from five steps with two Strong Customer Authentications (SCA) to just one payment confirmation page along with one SCA.

This allows returning consumers to complete their debit payment twice as fast with the SCA step typically being biometric based, with Trustly Express built on the top of the payments provider’s PSD2 APIs.

Johan Tjärnberg, Trustly Group CEO, said: “Launching Trustly Express is another key step forward in our offensive plan to deliver superior value to our merchants with the key aim to enable them to further accelerate their growth.

“Being one of the first movers since A2A’s inception we are committed to continue being a game changer in our industry.”

Writing for SBC last year, Trustly Vice President of Partnerships Ciaran O’Malley discussed Trustly’s solutions for the gaming space, notably highlighting its Pay N Play product.

The offering was ‘the first to provide operators with KYC data via a player’s deposit’, with O’Malley maintaining that the product has ‘revolutionised’ the player onboarding process for European operators.

The VP added: “With increased access to biometrics, payments are continuing to merge with digital identity. This improves ease of use while reducing identity fraud. It’s the new frontier – but one we’ve been pioneering at Trustly for some time.”
