Amy Howe takes leadership of FanDuel as new CEO

Flutter Entertainment Plc has confirmed the promotion of Amy Howe as Chief Executive of its flagship US subsidiary, FanDuel.

Having previously served as the Global COO of Ticketmaster, Howe joined FanDuel in February 2021 as President where she was charged with leading the company’s commercial strategy across all core business segments and products.

The appointment sees Flutter complete its three-month executive search to find a replacement for former FanDuel CEO Matt King, who departed the company in June after choosing to pursue new ventures.

Flutter underlined Howe’s leadership track record, having led commercial projects at Ticketmaster that led to a 400% sales increase and her distinguished 15-year tenure at  McKinsey & Company where she executed successful growth strategies for clients in Media, entertainment, retail and consumer goods.

“I am delighted to confirm the appointment of Amy as our new US CEO,”  commented Flutter Group CEO Peter Jackson.

“Since joining the business at the start of this year she has done an excellent job of leading our commercial functions and ensuring that we execute well at this critical phase of growth for our business.

“The expansion of the US market represents the single most exciting opportunity for Flutter today. Amy’s track record of leadership and experience in scaling a digital business will be invaluable as we look to grow our leadership position there.”

Howe has become CEO of FanDuel at a time when Flutter is preparing for the next phase of growth for its US subsidiary.  Governance of the FTSE100 company is reviewing options on an independent IPO to optimise investment of its US venture and commercial projects.

Amy Howe said “I am very pleased to be appointed the CEO of FanDuel at such an exciting time. Since joining the business, I have been very impressed by the quality of our team and the strategic advantages we enjoy in terms of brand reach, product quality and the broad expertise we leverage from being part of the wider Flutter Group.

“That said, we must avoid complacency and remain focussed on executing on our long-term strategy to build the embedded value of the business. I look forward to working with Peter and the wider team to drive FanDuel’s continued success.”
