BetConstruct nets true localisation in Brazil with OddsGate
Since its federal launch on 1 January 2024, Brazil’s nascent ‘Bets’ market has come up against ongoing regulatory and transitional headwinds, but the sheer scale and value of Brazil online gambling sees B2B firms of all shapes and sizes are undeterred.
BetConstruct, a tech supplier for global gambling has established a strong foothold in Brazil, that will be optimised in partnership with OddsGate. The Lisbon-based sports data and intelligence firm will develop localised services to strengthen BetConstruct’s offering for Brazil Bets clients.
The partnership sees BetConstruct supply Oddsgate with engineering and research and development support, a 24/7 Portuguese-language service, and access to its global solutions tailored to meet the requirements of the Brazilian market.
Upgrades include access to PIX, Brazil instant payments system which is mandated for use in the gambling sector, with other methods of payment like cards, cash and cryptocurrency excluded under the ‘Bets’ regulatory regime – though there have been murmurous this year that crypto betting could be on the horizon there.
“This partnership represents our strategic commitment to Brazil, combining BetConstruct’s global technological excellence with Oddsgate’s local expertise,” said Mikayel Sarukhanyan, Chief Business Officer at BetConstruct.
“Together, we’ll provide Brazilian operators with the reliability, innovation, and efficiency already recognised worldwide.”
Brazil’s nationwide regulated betting market came into being on 1 January 2025, and its value has predictably been exploited over the following months. Various companies, from local firms to multinationals like Kaizen, Flutter, Betsson and Superbet, have set up shop in Brazil.
According to government figures, revenue for H1 2025 amounted to over R$17.4bn (€2.7bn), showing the vast value of the market – though this has attracted some political opposition, with some policymakers particularly concerned about advertising. Illegal gambling and the impact of betting on sports integrity also continues to attract attention.
In the midst of this myriad of regulatory issues around gambling, firms like BetConstruct continue to see opportunities for growth in Brazil. The firm’s partnership with OddsGate follows on from other developments in the country, like the launch of a new affiliate product this summer.
“For Oddsgate, this is a transformative step,” Sarukhanyan continued. “The partnership allows us to offer our clients the most complete platform in the industry without giving up the personalization, proximity, and regulatory knowledge that define our leadership in the Brazilian market.”
