Betfred and Playtech create ‘unique’ horse racing bingo game
Gambling technology company, Playtech, has partnered with Betfred to introduce a new horse racing-themed bingo variant – Giddy Up Bingo.
The launch has been described as a 50-ball, multi-stake variant which gives players the option to pick one of four horses – each representing a different ticket price – with proportionally increasing prizes depending on the stake.
Within the game, numbered horses and jockeys replace traditional bingo balls, with horses galloping off screen as the numbers are called, whilst the title also features one progressive ‘community jackpot’.
Joni Keelings, Bingo Manager at Betfred, commented: “We’re very proud to offer Giddy Up Bingo as an exclusive, and there has been a highly positive player reaction to its launch. Giddy Up Bingo is both visually engaging and offers versatile gameplay – exactly the elements we look for in an exclusive variant.
“To be able to work closely with Playtech to deliver something unique for our players adds great value to our partnership, and we’re delighted with the results.”
Furthermore, Angus Nisbet, the Director of Digital Bingo at Playtech, paid special recognition to the group’s development team in the creation of the variant for their ‘excellent’ work.
He added: “We’re delighted to have partnered with Betfred to bring it exclusively to their players. The in-game animation creates the effect of the horses actually racing as the numbers are called, giving it great visual appeal, and with a choice of four stakes, the game can attract both newcomers and more experienced players.
“With horse racing season in full swing, it’s no surprise to see such a strong early reaction to Giddy Up Bingo – but we’re confident this is a variant players will enjoy all year round.”
At the beginning of last month, the enterprise entered into a partnership with Jockey Club, which centred around the development of cross-product content.
This now allows Playtech to produce content based on the Jockey Club’s network of racecourses and fixtures, with the firm having secured the rights to develop the features across its casino, live casino, poker, virtual sports and bingo verticals.
On this, James Frendo, Casino Director at Playtech, summarised: “At Playtech, we are committed to developing the most engaging branded content. By partnering with an iconic sporting institution such as The Jockey Club, we are able to create a full range of exceptional and exciting cross-product content.”
