FDJ’s Unibet returns to boxing form with Queensberry Promotions
FDJ United has again tapped into top-level UK boxing by renewing its contract with Queensberry Promotions, promoter of various high profile boxers like Tyson Fury.
Besides Fury, other top British boxing talents working with the Frank Warren-owned Queensberry promotion include Daniel Dubois, Anthony Yarde, and Ryan Garner.
Warren has previously given boxing fans exclusive behind-the-scenes access to blockbuster bouts thanks to a close cooperation with FDJ United’s Unibet brand, which has now agreed to extend their partnership.
The ‘Unibet Lowdown’ digital series has helped Unibet engage with UK boxing fandom, with the sport being a popular betting market in the country, via exclusive interviews and insights produced with the Warren-led elite level fighters.
On the continuation of this partnership, Warren said: “I’ve been involved in this sport for many, many years and the way people interact with boxing has changed beyond recognition.
“Here at Queensberry, we are certain this partnership will make sure these developments continue in the right direction, giving boxing fans unique access to the fighters and making them feel closer to the action.
“Unibet is the place to be when it comes to digital series for boxing fans everywhere, so we are delighted to continue this collaboration.”
Rafferty v Chamberlain
Queensberry and Unibet have already prepared the content rota ahead of the 23 August boxing bout on UK soil between Jack Rafferty and Mark Chamberlain, with the Unibet Lowdown series confirmed to be coming back with full swing.
First in line is an exclusive interview with former Scottish champion Josh Taylor, who’s previously been Rafferty’s training partner and is bound to build up hype around the upcoming fight.
Unibet Lowdown will then continue with its exclusive interview and content catalogue for each of its Fight Week build-up moving forward.
Sam Mead, General Manager UK, FDJ United, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be continuing our partnership with Queensberry Promotions.
“We share a similar ethos in delivering a customer-first approach – using the ever-growing medium of digital content to be innovative and engage existing and attract new fans.
“For the upcoming season, we aim to take our content even further – giving access that overtakes our previous offerings and gets fans even closer to the action.”
Unibet, one of the biggest betting and gaming operators in Europe, came under FDJ United ownership after the French gambling conglomerate acquired Malta-based Kindred Group for more than €2bn in 2024.
The acquisition led to the forming of FDJ’s brand new Online Betting and Gaming division for financial reporting purposes, which most recently marked a 11.5% drop in revenues YoY against H1 2024 figures.
With lower online betting gains and pressing tax hikes across the UK and its home market of France, it could be that FDJ is looking at marketing initiatives like this Queensberry deal as a way to salvage its performance.
