Flutter opens Ceuta hub to support Spanish market growth ambitions

Flutter Entertainment has opened a strategic hub in the Spanish autonomous city of Ceuta to support its Spanish market operations.

Local news sources have disclosed that the hub will form part of the ‘Flutter International’ unit of the FTSE100 gambling group, who are reported to be in the process of hiring 30 Ceuta based employees

The Ceuta hub aims to provide a dedicated support arm for Flutter’s flagship brands of PokerStars and Betfair that have operated within Spain’s regulated online gambling market since 2011.

Flutter is reported to have transferred its Spanish DGOJ online gambling licence from its Malta business entity to its new Ceuta domain.

The betting group’s presence in Ceuta will be led by Elisa Miguel Fonseca, Managing Director of Flutter International Spain.

“We are contributing to what is quickly becoming a centre of excellence for online gaming,” Fonseca commented to Ceuta news sources.

“From here, we also have access to the great local talent that accounts in the city and the Spanish market, in which we have licenses. We would like to thank the authorities of the Autonomous City of Ceuta for their warm welcome, and we hope, in the future, to embark on various projects from our new offices in the city

Flutter’s Spanish migration was deemed as a ‘further significant coup’ for the government of Ceuta, which has actively targeted for international igaming firms to domicile their businesses in the autonomous city located on tip of North Africa.

Since 2016, over 20 igaming operators have chosen to open offices in Ceuta including 888 Holdings, Betfred, MondoBets, Circus Gaming and Casino de Barcelona.
