Gentoo Media has appointed a new Chief Financial Officer, Måns Svalborn, who replaces Mads Haugegaard Albrechtsen in the role two months after his predecessor stepped down.

Svalborn is set to join the betting affiliate group’s senior management team in early October 2026, coming some six months after he finished his last C-level tenure in the industry, having been CFO at fellow gaming affiliate Raketech.

His responsibilities at Nasdaq Stockholm-listed Raketech included oversight of finance, legal and compliance operations, and investor relations. This included oversight and direction of financial strategy, financing, capital markets activities, corporate governance and cross-border acquisitions.

Prior to starting his career in iGaming with Raketech, Svalborn worked in banking and auditing with senior finance leadership roles at Nordea Bank and an auditor position at Big Four accountancy firm Ernst & Young (EY).

His tenure at Raketech was marked by a significant corporate restructuring as the group sought to contain the impact of diminishing revenues, though the firm continued to remain profitable.

At Gentoo, Svalborn will find himself working at an affiliate business facing the same challenges as Raketech.

These challenges are namely declining search traffic due to the impact of AI on search engines, and European gaming operators keeping a close eye on their spending as they deal with hefty tax regimes across the continent.
