OpenBet partners with Allwyn to enhance European profile

OpenBet, the sportsbook division of Light & Wonder, has partnered with Czech lottery operator Sazka to support the latter’s online and mobile wagering operations.

Part of the Allwyn Group – formerly the Sazka Group before its rebrand earlier this year, with Allwyn initially the UK identity of the company – Sazka maintains a Czech market sportsbook holding in Sazkabet.

The brand will leverage OpenBet’s fully managed turnkey platform, including a betting engine, full risk and liability management pricing and trading service covering several sports.

Jan Horyna, igaming Director at Sazka, said: “Transitioning to OpenBet’s sports betting technology and services is a key move for us to provide our customers with high-quality and responsible betting experiences.

“With OpenBet’s transformed modern technology, we are delighted to have introduced significant improvements to our overall sportsbook offering and relish the opportunity to plan future collaborations with OpenBet over the coming months.”

The agreement marks a further expansion of OpenBet’s presence in the European sports betting market, having partnered with the likes of Nederlandse Loterij (NL) and Fortuna – two deals highlighted as being of significance for the firm by its Chief Product Officer, Nikos Konstakis.

The company has now taken its sports betting technology and services live with seven World Lottery Association (WLA) members, ahead of its purchase from Light & Wonder by Endeavour.

On the collaboration with Sazka, Konstakis added: “Partnering with SAZKA as’ sportsbook arm Sazkabet, known for holding a considerable share of the market in the Czech Republic, is a key customer win that we’re very proud to announce.

“We have a strong track record for delivering sports betting solutions to WLA members worldwide and are very much looking forward to driving next-level player experiences for Sazkabet.

“Through our comprehensive range of products and services, the lottery is well-positioned to hold the competitive edge and bring exciting betting experiences to the people of the Czech Republic.”
