Paddy Power extends British darts commitments to 2031
The Paddy Power logo will be plastered all around the World Darts Championship for five more years through the latest sponsorship extension.
Since the title sponsorship’s inception for the 2023 tournament at Alexandra Palace, the Irish betting brand has gone on donate more than £2m to Prostate Cancer UK through its charity campaigns during the 2024 and 2025 Paddy Power World Darts Championship – with a pledge promising £1,000 in fundraising for each 180 scored.
One more layer added to the deal for the benefit of both the darts community and Prostate Cancer UK is the introduction of a nine-dart bonus – an event that’s already occurred twice during the 2024 tournament where £180,000 are equally split between the charity and a random audience member each time a player throws a perfect leg.
The raised funds go straight into Prostate Cancer UK’s TRANSFORM trial, which aims to revolutionise prostate cancer diagnosis through early screenings and prevention.
A spokesperson for Paddy Power commented: “The Paddy Power World Darts Championship is the greatest party in sport and we’re proud to extend our sponsorship for another five years. We promise we’ll keep bringing more excitement, entertainment and unmistakable Paddy Power mischief to the event wherever it’s held.
“But above all, we are very proud to be able to use our sponsorship to help the vital and life-changing work Prostate Cancer UK do. Our Big 180, Bigger 180 and Even Bigger 180 charity initiatives have become huge, award-winning campaigns and we look forward to continuing to support a push for a world where no man dies of prostate cancer.”
Paddy Power will keep leveraging its well-known social media branding to deliver awareness campaigns related to prostate cancer, with the bookmaker’s latest pledge being to get 180,000 men during the 2026 World Darts Championship to check whether they’re at risk.
This year’s tournament begins on 11 December and ends on 3 January, with Paddy Power’s sponsorship locked in until 2031 thanks to its ongoing commitments with the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) – the organisation behind the World Darts Championship.
Matt Porter, CEO of the PDC, added: “Paddy Power has had a hugely positive impact on the World Darts Championship over the past two years. Their creativity, investment and passion for the sport have elevated the tournament to new heights, delivering an unforgettable experience for fans in the arena and millions watching around the world.
“We are delighted to extend this partnership through to 2031 and look forward to working together to continue growing the event, supporting the players, and using the global platform of darts to raise vital funds and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK.”
