RMG renews distribution contract with Dubai Racing Club

Racecourse Media Group (RMG) has signed a two-year extension agreement with the Dubai Racing Club, covering production and distribution of horse racing content.

The contract renewal will see RMG continue to provide on-course coverage of all fixtures at the Meydan Racecourse over the next two horse racing seasons, with support from Timeline Television.

Martin Stevenson, CEO of RMG, said: “We are delighted that Dubai Racing Club has once again appointed RMG for its production and distribution services. We look forward to working closely with our valued partners, Dubai Racing Club, in showcasing such a significant sporting event to the world.”

In collaboration with Timeline – a long-term broadcast partner of RMG – the horse racing media group plans to put together ‘exciting broadcast rights packages’, with its partner providing facilities and crew to support its production and coverage.

RMG will broadcast its Meydan content across its Racing TV subsidiary, with a total of 22 meetings taking place across the 2021/22 season, including the 2022 Dubai World Cup Carnival (DWCC) which concludes with the Super Saturday event – along with eight other fixtures – on 5 March.

The renewal builds on a recent agreement which saw RMG and Timeline handed the international production and media rights distribution contract for Bahrain’s Sakhir Racecourse for the 2021/22 season by the Rashid Equestrian & Horseracing Club.

“We’re proud to be working with the Dubai Racing Club and Racecourse Media Group for the seventh year running,” remarked Dan McDonnell, CEO of Timeline Television.

“Each year we look to see how we can best capture the racing action and for the second year in a row we’re delighted to be providing both on-site and remote broadcast facilities to make this a more sustainable broadcast production.”

In another significant development, RMG was able to retain the rights to a number of major British, Irish and international races earlier this year, including the Randox Grand National Festival, Cheltenham Festival, Cazoo Derby Festival, Qatar Sussex Stakes and the Juddmonte International Stakes.
