SBC joins the Ukrainian Gambling Council

The Ukrainian Gambling Council (UGC), the body representing the betting and gaming industry in Ukraine, has welcomed SBC as its latest member.

Since legislation was passed in 2020 to legalise gambling in Ukraine, the UGC has emerged as a powerful voice in the industry and an important channel for communication between licensed operators and the government.

Its members include Parimatch, Pin-Up, Shangri La, Slots City, First Casino, Cosmolot, Favbet, Vbet, Volna 4444, and a number of professional NGOs from the gambling industry.

Part of its strategy to build a civilised gambling market in Ukraine is to reinforce its expertise from different areas of the industry by adding new highly-professional members to the council. The latest to join is SBC, the international events, and media company.

Headquartered in London, SBC has 75+ employees across Europe, the US, and Latin America. With ambitious expansion plans, SBC is a high-growth and innovative company focused on customer commitment and quality.

SBC Events organises some of the world’s largest betting and gaming events in locations like Barcelona, New York, Kyiv, London, Miami and Malta. The company’s events include established brands such as SBC Summit Barcelona, SBC Summit North America, SBC Summit CIS, CasinoBeats Summit and Betting on Sports Europe.

SBC Media is the largest B2B news publisher in the industry with more than 75 news stories published each day. It offers a range of news, content and advertising services to help operators, suppliers and affiliates to promote their brand, products and services via news portals such as SBC News, SBC Americas, SBC CIS, CasinoBeats, SBC Noticias, Esports Insider, Payment Expert, Insider Sport and SBC Leaders magazine.

Anton Kuchukhidze, Chairman of the Ukrainian Gambling Council, said: “We are delighted to see SBC among the members of our association. I strongly believe that the company’s versatile experience in the holding of major global events in the industry as well as comprehensive media expertise will contribute to the achievement of our common goals.

“It’s a very good sign that such big international groups in the sphere of gambling join UGC – the largest Ukrainian association of legal gambling operators. It will definitely help us transmit the key messages about the Ukrainian gambling business environment as well as showcase its advantages to foreign companies and investors willing to enter our market.

“In fact, we already took the first step in this direction while acting as SBC’s strategic partner in the organization and holding of SBC Summit CIS – the largest gaming event in Eastern Europe in October 2021. I would like to thank Rasmus Sojmark and the whole SBC team for their cooperation and trust in our partnership.”

SBC Founder and CEO Rasmus Sojmark said: “Ukraine is one of the markets that offers the greatest growth potential for the international betting and gaming industry, making it important for SBC to be connected to the most influential organizations there. So we are delighted to strengthen our relationship with UGC.

“The Council’s input into last year’s SBC Summit CIS in Kyiv was invaluable and we look forward to working with Anton and his team again on the 2022 edition of the event.”
