Sportech hunts for new CFO following Rowlands departure

Sportech Plc has informed investors that Nicola Rowlands has chosen to resign as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the London AIM-listed wagering technology and racing systems supplier.

Rowlands will resign from CFO duties on 30 September, having agreed to join digital marketing services group DEPT as Deputy CFO

Sportech promoted Rowlands to CFO in August last year, replacing former incumbent Tom Hearne, who had chosen to step down from Sportech’s leadership team, which had completed a strategic overhaul of the business.

The board of Sportech has begun an executive search for Rowlands’ replacement, which will be overseen by company chairman Richard McGuire.

“We are grateful to Nicola for her dedication, professionalism and support to the Group, specifically during the recent years when she played a pivotal role in the transactions and restructuring of the business, resulting in the elimination of debt and returning significant capital to shareholders. She will leave here with our best wishes for her future career.” – read a statement by McGuire.

Rowlands will complete her CFO duties as Sportech is scheduled to announce its Interim 2022 trading results on 1 September 2022.

“I have been with Sportech for nearly twelve years and have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the company and am proud of what has been achieved by its management and employees. Rowlands commented:

“However, I believe it is time to move to the next stage of my career with DEPT®. I am confident that Sportech will continue to deliver value for shareholders and customers alike and I wish the Board and the team all the very best for the future.”
