Sportradar enters multi-year integrity agreement with Swiss Handball Federation
Sportradar has further enhanced its portfolio of integrity clients, securing an agreement between its Sportradar Integrity Services (SIS) division and the Swiss Handball Federation (SVF).
The multi-year agreement will see Sportradar provide bet monitoring services to the SVF using its Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS), covering men’s and women’s senior matches at both youth and senior level, including the Quickline Handball League and Mobiliar Handball Cup tournaments.
Leveraging its system, Sportradar’s integrity team will work to monitor betting patterns for the SVF to detect abnormalities, reporting any suspicious matches to the organisation with the aim of ‘allowing critical visibility’ into potential match fixing or manipulation.
Andreas Krannich, Managing Director of Sportradar Integrity Services, remarked: “We have witnessed growing integrity threats over the years, particularly due to recent global events, as well as an increasing betting interest in sports such as handball, and so are excited to have entered into this partnership with the SHV.
“At Sportradar, we are fully committed to assisting our partners’ integrity efforts and look forward to working together with the SHV to support the integrity of Swiss handball in the years ahead.”
The agreement builds on a number of prominent partnerships secured by Sportradar this year, as it made its debut on the US Nasdaq stock exchange in September, with the firm’s Chief Commercial Officer Ed Blonk outlining the American betting market as the ‘biggest growth opportunity’ for the sports data and technology company.
Notable integrity agreements secured by the firm in recent months include a deal with the FIBA 3-3 urban basketball tournament and the Austrian Tennis Association (ATA), whilst betting data arrangements have been inked with the likes of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Commenting on the authority’s partnership with Sportradar, Jürgen Krucker, Managing Director of Swiss Handball, commented: “We are taking all the necessary steps to safeguard our game, and we recognise that bet monitoring plays an important role in this across all levels of competition.
“Sportradar Integrity Services have a proven track record in the field of sports integrity, and by bringing them on board to monitor our competitions through their UFDS solution we will have crucial visibility of global betting activity surrounding our competitions.”
