Stake.com signs Sergio Aguero to boost global brand visibility
Stake.com has signed former Manchester City and Argentina striker, Sergio Aguero, as its latest global representative in a multi-year partnership deal.
The collaboration sees Aguero work with the cryptocurrency betting and gaming operator on a range of initiatives, which have been revealed as exclusive content, promotions and VIP guest packages.
Mladen Vuckovic, CEO of Stake.com, commented: “As the January transfer window draws to a close, we’re delighted to announce the signing of Sergio Aguero as our new team star. Sergio’s legacy speaks for itself and he is the perfect fit for us as we continue to expand Stake.com’s global presence.
“We look forward to welcoming Sergio’s fans around the world into the Stake.com community as we celebrate this exciting World Cup year with one of the true icons of the game.”
Aguero has been added to Stake.com’s portfolio of global athletes and clubs across the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and beyond, with the operator praising the striker as ‘one of the greatest players of his generation’.
Aguero is Premier League side Manchester City’s leading scorer, winning five titles during his 10 year association with the club, as well as boasting over 100 international caps for Argentina including an Olympic Gold Medal, culminating in the 2021 Copa America triumph.
Commenting on his new partnership, Aguero noted: “I’m delighted to be working with Stake.com and joining their exciting team. I’ve watched on with interest as they have become more involved in football and Stake’s ambitions very closely match my own as I move into a new phase of my post-playing career.
“I can’t wait to get started on all the exciting initiatives we have planned for fans as we build up to the World Cup later this year.”
Also an esports investor, Aguero joins Stake.com alongside UFC stars Francis Ngannou and Israel Adesanya whilst expanding Stake.com’s football links, which currently includes a ‘club-record’ partnership with Watford FC as shirt sponsors for the 2021/22 season.
Additionally, in recent weeks, the platform moved to strengthen its brand presence in the UK following its launch in the country, signing an agreement with Swindon Town FC. This partnership saw its logo featured on the League Two team’s shirt sleeves for its Emirates FA Cup Third Round match against Manchester City on 7 January.
