The collaboration sees Aguero work with the cryptocurrency betting and gaming operator on a range of initiatives, which have been revealed as exclusive content, promotions and VIP guest packages.

Aguero is Premier League side Manchester City’s leading scorer, winning five titles during his 10 year association with the club, as well as boasting over 100 international caps for Argentina including an Olympic Gold Medal, culminating in the 2021 Copa America triumph. 

Commenting on his new partnership, Aguero noted: “I’m delighted to be working with and joining their exciting team. I’ve watched on with interest as they have become more involved in football and Stake’s ambitions very closely match my own as I move into a new phase of my post-playing career.

Also an esports investor, Aguero joins alongside UFC stars Francis Ngannou and Israel Adesanya whilst expanding’s football links, which currently includes a ‘club-record’ partnership with Watford FC as shirt sponsors for the 2021/22 season. 

Additionally, in recent weeks, the platform moved to strengthen its brand presence in the UK following its launch in the country, signing an agreement with Swindon Town FC. This partnership saw its logo featured on the League Two team’s shirt sleeves for its Emirates FA Cup Third Round match against Manchester City on 7 January.
