Australia has been hit by another COVID outbreak and the Casinos have not been spared by them. The SkyCity Entertainment Group who owns the SkyCity Adelaide Casino and many other entertainment ventures have said that all the operations under them have been suspended keeping in mind the outbreak.
The South Australian Government has imposed strict Covid SOPs in the state after new cases are abruptly increasing. The level 4 restrictions have given permission to essential business owners and seated food and drinks to be allowed but large events and operations such as Casinos see a ban and the SkyCity Adelaide Casino thus have to close down but their five start hotel Eos will be operational for the current guests with strict SOPs until the South Australian Government issues any further details.
It is not the only South Australian-based Casino to close down, the Star Sydney has closed its operation till the end of the month while the controversial Crown Casino has also closed down, the closure is expected to extend as if the situation is not brought under control in South Australia.
The Delta Variant of COVID which is seen as one of the deadliest strains of the virus started spreading in June when a chauffer contracted it from airline staff.
Sydney has put restrictions on movement without major need and trading. At midnight the retail outlets that are allowed to be operational have to close down till the end of the month. On Saturday 108 new cases were seen and 25 of them were culprits of not following the SOPs given by the state.
“This is our chance to quash this virus and make sure that families and businesses can bounce back as quickly as possible.” Gladys Berejiklian Premier of New South Wales issued a statement about the delta variant of COVID.
Despite the closure of the SkyCity Adelaide Casino the SkyCity Casinos in Auckland and other cities of New Zealand; Hamilton and Queenstown will remain fully operational.
