Betsson onboards Roland Glasfors as Group IR lead

Betsson AB has confirmed the appointment of Roland Glasfors as Vice President of Corporate Communications, Sustainability and Investor Relations.

An expert in IR and CSR disciplines, he joins the firm’s executive leadership team from Stockholm Nasdaq-listed instant payments and open banking systems provider Trustly AB.

Glasfors has prior industry experience, having led investor relationships and stakeholder management for NetEnt AB – the former market-leading online casino games supplier acquired by Evolution Gaming for €2bn in 2020.

Betsson disclosed that Glasfors will begin his role on 2 May, and will form part of CEO Pontus Lindwall’s executive management team.

Lindwall communicated: “Roland’s extensive experience from capital markets and work in investor relations will be a great asset for us

“His experience from the gaming sector is yet another advantage. With Roland onboard, we can continue to further sharpen our communications and accelerate the pace of our sustainability work.

This March, Betsson put forward the nomination of Johan Lundberg to serve as corporate chairman ahead of the company’s AGM on 10 May.

Further corporate governance developments saw the company strengthen its board with the appointment of Eva de Falck, Louise Nylén and Tristan Sjöberg as new independent directors.

“Betsson’s recent investments and acquisitions make this an exciting time for the company with growth opportunities in several new markets around the world,” Glasfors commented on his appointment.

“The Group has also made many efforts in recent years to integrate sustainability in its strategy and thus create favourable conditions to secure a sustainable and responsible business model for fair and competitive gaming markets.”
