Ladbrokes and Coral to reindex on Oddschecker grid

Entain Plc has secured a new commercial arrangement with Oddschecker, that will see its flagship Ladbrokes and Coral UK brands return to being listed on sports betting leading odds comparison portal.

Ladbrokes and Coral brands have not featured on the Oddschecker price-grid since July 2020, as GVC Holdings (formerly Entain) could not settle on a commercial agreement to accommodate its UK sports betting portfolio.

At the time of the decision, GVC stated that its withdrawal was due to an internal review of group media spend and had no connection with Oddschecker being a property of FTSE rival Flutter Entertainment.

“We are delighted that we have been able to arrive at a deal that works for both parties and that Ladbrokes and Coral will be part of the service going forward,” said Simon Gatenby, Entain Performance Marketing Director.

This summer, Oddschecker was sold to North American sports fund Bruin Capital for £158 million, who became the fifth owner of the affiliate portal following BskyB, CVC Capital, The Stars Group and Flutter Entertainment.

Meanwhile, Entain Plc has chosen to shrink its UK sports betting portfolio, announcing the sale of Betdaq exchange back to original founder Dermot Desmond.

“We welcome Ladbrokes and Coral back to Oddschecker to be part of our exciting plans for 2022 under new ownership. We are pleased that the UK’s best price comparison site for betting has become even more comprehensive for our customers” said Toby Bentall, CEO of OGM Group.
