Sue Yoxall ends 20-year journey with mkodo
Sue Yoxall has ended her 20-year executive tenure leading mkodo, the business she co-founded alongside venture partner Stuart Godfree in 2001.
This week, Yoxall announced on LinkedIn that she had completed her ‘20-year journey with mkodo’ and would no longer be involved in the day-to-day running of the business.
Fresh to the gambling sector in 2001, Yoxall and Managing Director Stuart Godfree launched mkodo as an engineering studio helping gambling sector incumbents launch and develop their initial mobile products and inventories.
mkodo would soon establish itself within industry ranks, as a go-to specialist for operators seeking to develop native apps, responsive websites, web and single-page applications.
Following its early success, mkodo would quickly expand its engineering services to cover all key components for igaming product development including UX, design, system testing and optimisation.
Key clients included Grosvenor Casino, Mecca Bingo, Danske Spil, British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) and Western Canada’s Lottery Corporation (WCLC).
2020 saw global commercial printing conglomerate Pollard Banknote agree to acquire all mkodo assets and IPs outright for CAD $14 million (£8m).
Leaving mkodo, Yoxall stated that she would – “invest my time assisting innovative business ventures, and broader projects that benefit society.”
“Stuart Godfree and I set up mkodo with the aim to build a business that gave a fair and stimulating environment to team members, a high-quality impactful product to the market, and a rewarding experience to shareholders. This we achieved and more.” Yoxall stated.
“Today marks the end of my last week at mkodo. Thank you to all mkodians old and new who joined the mkodo journey, and to everyone that has supported us along the way.”
